Creating a hand sanitiser that is more effective over time, this is the aim of the Disigel project run by the Lumendo company in collaboration with Empa. This new disinfectant is expected to form a long-lasting antibacterial and antiviral layer on the skin, with the goal of reducing the transmission of viruses and pathogenic bacteria. A medical advance that could be decisive in the fight against antibiotic-resistant bacteria or in the event of new pandemics.
